Sir Geoff Hurst, who scored a hat-trick in England’s victorious 1966 World Cup campaign, will be involved in another first on January 15th a Hyundai dealer that brings the showroom and cars to your front door.

Instead of asking customers to take time and trouble of going to a dealership ‘Platts Direct 2 You’ involves a sales executive bringing the car, brochures and any information right to the customer’s home or place of work. By doing so this makes a customer’s journey to a showroom unnecessary, and literally puts the Hyundai dealership on everyone’s doorstep.

When the car is sold, the car is again delivered straight to the customer’s home or workplace. And when the car needs a service or any other work, the car is collected and delivered to the customer’s chosen location.

This is the first ‘direct dealer’ anywhere in the UK, and is designed to present the vehicle and Hyundai services in a relaxed, no pressure environment.

Sales Manager Steve Piper said: "The idea is that the customer should never have to come in to the dealer at all. It will attract people who might have found the idea of coming into a dealer intimidating."

Sir Geoff will official open the new shop at 12.00am. There will be a Prize Draw for a number of 2002 Hyundai footballs, signed by Sir Geoff at 1.00pm.
